How Can We Be Better?
It’s a question commonly asked in any business (or it should be!) Here are a few ways you can improve your own business practices to optimize how your company runs.
This counts for both internal and external. Be transparent with your own employees, be honest and open about your decision-making processes and challenges you and the company may be facing. This helps foster more trust.
Being externally transparent, or being honest with your prospects, clients, and stakeholders is not only a good idea, but it’s also in your best interest in terms of your reputation and could have legal ramifications too.
Speaking of employee trust, trust the people you hired to do their jobs. Micromanagement takes up a lot of everybody’s time. So approving new projects and initiatives, without hovering over your employees’ shoulders can build employee investment in your company. Of course, not everything can pay off which brings us to our next point.
Learn from mistakes
You’re going to fail, in some way, at some point. Often, in many ways at many points. And that’s okay.
The important thing is to learn from your mistakes. What went wrong? Why? What can you do differently next time?
